Film Blog: We Filmed

The time has finally came. We filmed today and the weather was in filming conditions. On Wednesday, February 26th it was Michael’s birthday so we didn’t get to film. We didn’t have that much time to film. I texted in the group chat and asked if Thursday worked for all of us and everyone said yes. Fulvio grabbed the camera and now we were set. After school,  we went to Michael’s house to film. We weren’t able to get the whole movie done. It went way better than I expected. We made sure to film the scenes we did multiple times. Jontae and Fulvio had to go home earlier than we anticipated. Even though we didn’t finish filming, we planned another day to. Sunday morning we plan on meeting up to finish. Our film sessions so far has been fun. Michael has some great acting skills. Fulvio is making sure we are sticking to our storyboard and Jontae is making sure our angles are good. This whole film is a team effort and we are working together amazingly. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m excited. We got the specific scenes down. Doing it all in one day is sort of stressful so splitting it up is smart. Finishing this Sunday is the primary goal.

Film Blog: Didn’t Film Again

Another weekend has gone to waste. It’s none of our fault. We all had something to do. Michael had a track meet on Saturday. Jontae had a meeting to go to. Fulvio had to stay with his family. I had to take care of my sick sister all weekend. Time is going by fast and we need to figure out a way to film. The more and more we wait the less time we have. In my opinion, my group and I will figure it out. One week left to record. It may be tough since we have SATs coming up. Everyone is studying and forgetting the fact we have to record. I am going to try and set up a film date. We have peer review next week. My group needs to record something before March 2nd. In other words, we might be screwed. My group and I work well under pressure. Best to say we might have an opportunity this weekend. The schedule will be figured out by then.

Film Blog: Didn’t Film

The idea was to get everything done, checkout a camera and start filming so we can get it out of the way. It didn’t happen at all. My group forgot to check a camera out on Thursday, February 13th and my group member Fulvio went to Harvard for a debate tournament. In order for us to be better as a group we need to communicate more. I had no clue Fulvio went on this trip. It would’ve been very weird if we checked out a camera without knowing if Fulvio was gonna be here. My group didn’t even decide who would check out the camera. The weekend came and not a single person texted to see when we were going to film. We still have time to film but we need to better as a group. I believe that if we had one week left to film, we would be in so much trouble.  Another reason why filming did not happen this weekend was, Michael had a track meet all day on Friday and a meet on Saturday as well. On Sunday Michael was free but I had a basketball game and a family outing. On Monday it was Michael dad’s birthday so he was too busy having fun with his dad. Fulvio still had not returned from Harvard. Even though everyone was busy, the weather itself was bad so it would’ve been hard to film. I know that we still have two more weekends to film and I’ll make sure we get it done. I will do my best to communicate better as well. I am going to see what’s the right date for us to film. Let’s hope that the weather isn’t bad this weekend so we can film this. I’m excited for this film. This film is going to be one of the best.

Planning Blog: Storyboard

In this blog, we are drawing our storyboards. The storyboard is gonna show how each scene is gonna play out. The process of drawing was tough. Our hands started to get tired. We each rotated spots in drawing to give each other a break. It was also funny, we were making jokes about each other. Each of us has no drawing skills so we tried our best. The best drawer is Edgardo. We are numbering our storyboards to show which one is happening first. Our storyboard is 10 sheets long.

We show the schedule of when we’re going to shoot the film. As we plan this out, many places popped up in our heads on where we could film. In this time frame we will try to be quick in shooting our film. We chose who would be each specific character. We provide pictures of where we’re going to be shooting. We are making sure a parent is involved in watching us. We want the best for our film.

Planning Blog: Sound Script

Today, we will be saying what sounds are gonna be in the film. Since it’s a kidnapping movie, we will try to figure out the right sounds. We want you to watch it and feel curious. Stay attached to the film and not get bored of it. It was pretty interesting discussing the sounds. There is a lot of sounds and we wanted to be specific when choosing. Ultimately, it was a group decision and we all agreed on the sound choices. It was practically hard decisions to make. We enjoyed making the decisions though. Better than having nothing.

Planning Blog: Shooting Script

We are figuring out what will be in our film. The thought process was extremely hard. Even though we knew what are genre was, there were many ways to create a film idea. Each person had a different input on how we should set it up. Ultimately we came to a decision... It was much fun thinking about how we were going to do it. We loved the idea of kidnapping so we interpreted it in. We also had to think about how each person could contribute. We are excited to film this movie. We are proud of ourselves.
